Bleaching (Whitening) BriteSmile® - is a safe and effective way to brighten your smile. Many systems are available from the widely used home bleaching to in-office "power bleaching" with bright lights or lasers.
In our City Dental Clinic we offer you the BriteSmile® Teeth Whitening System, which is very effective and provide wonderful results. In just over an hour, you can leave the practice with a natural-looking, whiter, brighter smile. How it works? The patient prepares their teeth by brushing with pre-whitening toothpaste. Then the BriteSmile whitening gel is applied to the teeth and the gentle BriteSmile light is shone on the teeth to activate the gel, while the patient relaxes in the chair. He is checked frequently and the gel is reapplied every 20 minutes during the one-hour treatment.
In clinical studies, BriteSmile has been able to achieve 8+ shades whiter, on average.
Note about Home Bleaching: side effects of home bleaching include transient temperature sensitivity and occasional exacerbation of inherent variations in enamel color, both of which improve once bleaching is stopped. Fillings and crowns do not change color with any type of bleaching and may need to be replaced afterwards. Bleaching has shown to be very stable.
